Lenses disappear

I don't know how to "ask the lenses" for their opinions, except for asking in the chat per prompt. It looks like I could just clikc on them underneath my chat. But even if I explicitly DO NOT click on the X; but on their name instead, they LEAVE the conversation. I would expect I can some how click on them to "actively get their opinion" on what I am currently working on.
Also: How do I define the scope on WHAT they should judge? If I have a huge project, will the lense "lawyer" always judge the entire context or can I ask him to just "review one small aspect / idea / etc" of it? If so, how? (That can become really important
